The Zamba de Vargas is a well-known popular song by an anonymous author of Argentine folklore and, in turn, the oldest zamba of the musical record. It has been said that it is "the mother of all the zambas."The Zamba de Vargas appeared at the time of the Battle of Pozo de Vargas, which took place on April 10, 1867 in the final stage of the period known as the Argentine civil wars.Popular tradition says that the song was executed in full combat, inselling the Santiaguen soldiers who were members of the national troops under the command of Taboada, who thus reversed the fate of the weapons that were adverse to them, and that for that reason it has since taken the name of "Zamba de Vargas." There exist several beautiful guitar versions of this Zamba - by Chazarreta, Eduardo Falu, Atahualpa Yupanqui... Here I play the version of Antonio Sinópoli and it is the 11-th piece(from 24 planned) for my CD-4 with the works of this great Master. The dedication says:"Dedicated to the group "One Hundred Argentine Guitars" consecrated in the teatro Colón of Buenos Aires on September 30, 1948".#AntonioSinopoli#ZambaDeVargas#AndreyShilov#Zamba#classicalguitar#guitar#UkrainianGuitarists#GuitarVirtuosos#rare#ArgentinianGuitarMusic#LatinamericanGuitarMusic#Dnipro#BestGuitarArrangements
